Sunflowers

What are sunflowers to you?
I wonder why people interpret sunflowers as happiness. I kinda feel bad towards them for that.
Just because they’re bright, and yellow, does it mean they are happy?
Are they, tho?
I heard they head towards the sun, so they stand straight on the peak of the afternoon.
That means they bow down their heads at night.
When it’s dark.
When nobody is looking.
When no one is around.
When people are sleeping sound.
Maybe they cry while weakly kneeling.
Maybe they numbly staring at the ground,
wondering how does it feel not to be that powerless.
Or maybe,
they just excitedly wait for the sun to rise again.
…who knows?
